GODIN A6 ULTRA KOA
Having recently bought one of these lovely guitars for the second time and finding the tonal variations and options for use live and recorded to really suit my playing, I’m interested to know the opinions of others on them.
I’ve strung mine with Thomastik Flat Wound 10-47 and find I can get wonderful jazz tones from the humbucker but with a lightness from mixing in some of the Piezo pickup, that makes playing a pure joy.
With treble & bass for the Humbucker and treble, middle and bass for the Piezo, I find I can send the signals to separate channels on me AER Compact 60v3 and get so many variations in volume and tone, that I can’t stop playing and grinning.
I’ll be adding some recordings soon to show off the sounds I’m able to find. Also finding the use of Fishman’s excellent Platinum Pro Pre-amp very helpful with the Piezo signal when playing live. This setup puts almost all the tonal variations I desire, in the chain before the sound reaches my Boss RC-3 Loopstation pedal. Happy Man!
